I thought taking some photos of my latest knitted pendants against this lovely vine-ridden wall would make great shots- unfortunately, I was a bit wrong, and the harsh sunlight ruined the day! Nevertheless, here are a couple of the more decent ones- after all film is expensive! Here I've also begun knitting necklaces with tiny needles and embroidery thread, the effect is a very delicate if not ephemeral "chain".
My name is Clara-Emily McKay,I'm undertaking my final year of a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Fine Arts) at the University of Ballarat. Throughout my practice I have explored mediums including photography, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, hand-crafts, performance and written word in order to facilitate the construction of a dialogue concerning perception of selves and self-segregation; whilst simultaneously intending to convey works pertaining to the feminine, notions of ‘love’ within modernity and the preservation of memories.
Here I intend to show my practice, development and product, whilst acknowledging all of those tiny, seemingly insignificant occurrences that inevitably influence the latter. Enjoy! xx
